IF ANYONE IS HISTORICAL ACCURATED WITH RUSSIAN ROYAL FURNITURE THEN PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!
:iconcryforeverplz:

Lol, sorry, I didn't like the way the furniture turned out.

It's.....awful :XD:
The only thing in the backround that I was happy with were the flowers. The rest is just some random door, random mirror and a lamp that looks like a big-ass candy-necklace...... D:

Anyway, enough of me being self-critical (I'm pretty good at it, sorry) I've had this picture on my mind for a while now and finally became done with it :)

So here is the deal!

I was roleplaying a while ago with some friends here on dA. We were roleplaying with Hetalia and suddenly we were on the topic "Rasputin"(I was Soviet! Russia in that RP btw) and it became interesting. Suddenly I found myself do some resourches about this mystic man (and I also discovered an awesome disco-song by Boney M! Ra-Ra-Rasputin! )

NOTE: HAVE IN MIND THAT ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST WRITING NOR SPEAKING LANGUAGE. BEWARE OF WRITING FAILURE!

Besides that, enjoy! :)

From what I've read then it's unclear if Grigorij Rasputin was evil-minded or a good man. It's hard to get a whole and clean picture of him.

There was a certain man in Russia long ago
He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people looked at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear

Rasputin became known as the last czar's best friend and an alleged lover to the last czarina, Alexandra Of Hessen. No one knows if it is true or not, but some believes he actually had an affair with the Russian queen.

Himself, at a young age, was a poor, odd man that became noticed for helping the sick and wounded.

Later on, he joined a religious sect that believed that a human could only receive God's forgiveness if he sinned deeply enough to hit the rockbottom - and then beg for forgiveness.
Rasputin left the sect later on, but kept the philosophy and persuaded a lot of women to have sex with him - and then he begged for forgiveness.

After having started a family, Rasputin decided to begin "a pilgrimage" around Russia. He left his wife and their newborn child to begin his journey.
Around 1901, there were rumours all over the country about a mystic, blackbearded healer walking around in Russia.

He ruled the Russian land and never mind the czar
But the kasachok he danced really wunderbar
In all affairs of state he was the man to please
But he was real great when he had a girl to squeeze
For the queen he was no wheeler dealer
Though she'd heard the things he'd done
She believed he was a holy healer
Who would heal her son

I'm sure most of you have heard the legend about Anastasia and the Romanov family. The Romanov family were the last Czar family in Russia before the Russian Revolution(1917)

Alexej, the prospective heir to the throne, had an bleeding disorder which made him deadly sick. The czarina, Alexandra, heard about Rasputin's healing powers and decided to meet this strange man that proclaimed to have the ability to heal her dying son.

The son became all better with time and it ended up making the Russian queen rely entirely on Rasputin and his healing powers. Rasputin used prayers and hypnotic treatments to heal Alexsej. (it's not known whether his methods really worked as healing, but now there's proof that calming hypnotic can reassure the symptoms)

Both the czer, Nikolaj II, and his wife trusted Rasputin and welcomed the healer into their home. Nikolaj was in the command of the Russian armies in the First World War and wasn't home most of the time, though.
Rasputin was an extremely trusted man in Alexandra's eyes and when he gave her advices about how the war should be handled, she wrote down the advices to her husband. The czar followed most of Rasputin's advices but the war didn't become succesful.

But when his drinking and lusting and his hunger
for power became known to more and more people,
the demands to do something about this outrageous
man became louder and louder.

In the end; the majority of the people in Russia(mostly the aristocrats) were dissatisfied with how their country was ruled. The dissatisfaction ended up in a plan to kill Rasputin(and later on, the whole Romanov family)

He was killed at a party, who a royal man called Felix Jusupovs had invited him to. Jusupovs was one of the men who deeply wanted to kill Rasputin.

RA RA RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
They put some poison into his wine
RA RA RASPUTIN
Russia's greatest love machine
He drank it all and he said "I feel fine"

RA RA RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
They didn't quit, they wanted his head
RA RA RASPUTIN
Russia's greatest love machine
And so they shot him till he was dead

There are many rumours about his death, but the legend says he awakened multiple times from the dead.
First, Rasputin was offered by Jusupov to drink a glass of poisoned whine, without any visible effect.
Then he offered him a pastry filled with cyanid, and he ate it without any visible effect.
In the end, Jusupovs became frustrated and shot Rasputin two times in the chest, and the blackbearded healer fell to the floor without any signs of life.
Jusupovs were sure that the "crazy monk" now was dead, but controlled the body one more time.
It's then said that Rasputin should have awakened again and taken a stranglehold around the man's neck while whispering; "You evil little boy..." to him.
A frightened Jusupov managed to get away from Rasputin who stood on his own feet again. Rasputin was then shot again multiplied times and abused by Jusupov's adherents. They hit him until he was dead(for real this time) and then dumped the body in a flood.

There's no proof that Rasputin woke up from the dead, and many believes it's just made up stories by Jusupov's himself to make Rasputin look like the devil himself.

Oh, those Russians...

For you who want to know more, feel free to search it up. I'm also open for changes in the text if you find errors or historical incorrect facts, but please give me the source containing the right facts :)
I had planned to write about the Romanov family also, but it's going to be too long :XD:

I hope you enjoyed both the drawing and the story behind it! :iconrussiasmileplz: And I'm sorry for those who went tired and fell asleep of my text..... D:

The picture is very nice :D (Big Grin)
But, OMG, the sex-sect? I've heard a lot of dirty things about him, but this...
The tzar did not trust Rasputin much. But tsarina and all the girls did. They called him "Dearest Friend" (I've seen some letters). Besides, I do not see any reasons for Russia not to like him. At least he was not a mason like that strange frenchman, who was very close to tsar.
Btw, in Russia we believe that it was MI-6 behind the assassination. Well, anglo-saxons are blamed for pretty much everything in Russia Wink/Razz , but this is quite serious thing.
And all the Romanov family participated in war. The tzar and Alexey were involved in the military, tsarina and all the girls were sisters of mercy. So, your hint on tsarina's relationship with Rasputin while tzar was out of home is wrong.
BTW, why such obsession with Anastassia. Is it because of that stupid (and quite offensive) cartoon?
